Detailed portraits and wildlife drawings that capture expression, texture, and light, worked in coloured pencil, graphite, charcoal, oils and watercolour. Each piece is built slowly, layer by layer, until the subject feels present.

I’m Ameeta Jackree, a Trinidad and Tobago–based self-taught artist whose work blends hyper-detailed realism with the expressive vibrancy of Caribbean life. Working primarily in coloured pencil, graphite, charcoal, pastels, oils and watercolour, I’m drawn to subjects that carry both presence and feeling. Wildlife, botanicals, portraiture, and moments shaped by light.
My work often celebrates the natural world of my homeland, from tropical birds and flora to luminous textures and colour palettes that echo island life. I’m especially interested in the details that make a subject feel alive: the softness of fur, the pattern of feathers, the stillness in an eye, and the quiet energy a piece can hold.
A selection of awards, features, and exhibitions that mark important milestones in my practice.
